Residual Effect of Organic and Inorganic Fertilizers on Growth, Yield and Nutrient Uptake in Wheat under a Basmati Rice–Wheat Cropping System in North-Western India

Restoring soil fertility in farming systems is essential to sustain a crop and its productivity. Thus, the present study was conducted assess residual effects of combined application fertilizers manures on yield, concentration uptake nutrients wheat under basmati rice-wheat cropping system. The treatments applied involve T1: control, T2: farmyard manure (15 t ha−1), T3: poultry (6 T4: press mud T5: rice straw compost T6: ha−1) + 50% recommended dose nitrogen (RDN), T7: RDN, T8: T9: T10: 75% T11: ha1) T12: T13: T14: T15: 100% RDN. organic significantly improved growth parameters yield attributes. Among different treatments, use NPK showed maximum plant height (125.2 cm), number tillers (68.0 m−1), chlorophyll content (45.0) (50.84 q ha−1 for grain 80.43 straw, respectively). Additionally, incorporation RDN demonstrated highest nitrogen, phosphorus potassium (7.37, 3.31 4.93 g ha−1, respectively) (1.72, 1.05 12.63 zinc, copper, iron manganese concentrations were observed be 32.0, 3.1, 52.1 17.6 mg kg−1 8.2, 2.1, 374.6 20.5 respectively. Similarly, uptakes 67.6, 15.5, 263.8 89.6 173.3, 16.8, 3026.9 170.6 integrated with could used productivity maintain which otherwise deteriorates due sole inorganic fertilizers.
